D. (David) Walker, Chief Executive Officer
David Walker, from the United Kingdom, has a wide breadth of expertise and more than 30 years of international experience covering the entire energy value chain. He started his career as a geologist for American oil company, Amoco, before moving into operations and then major capital project management – the latter for BHP Billiton, the Anglo-Australian mining company. He was President of BHP Billiton’s petroleum operations in the North Sea, North Africa, Middle East and Australia. He joined DNV in 2007 to further develop its energy business and then moved into the role of Chief Strategy Officer within the DNV Group, where he was closely involved in the start of DNV KEMA. Walker was appointed as CEO of DNV KEMA as of mid June 2012. |  |

Aad van den Bos, from the Netherlands, has 30 years of international experience working with financial and project management. Before joining DNV KEMA as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Van den Bos held the position of Divisional Controller, Division Central and Southern Europe & Middle East in DNV Business Assurance. |  |

E. (Elisabeth) Harstad, Chief Innovation & Business Line Officer
Elisabeth Harstad has 25 years of experience in strategic management, line and project management, studies, reviews and design related to offshore as well as land based process related activities. Prior to joining DNV KEMA, Harstad was the managing director of DNV Research & Innovation, focusing on new knowledge and services.

D. (Dirk) Fenske – COO Europe
Dirk Fenske has been working in managerial positions for international consultancy firms for over 20 years, mainly covering the Energy and Utilities sector. Following his training in banking and finance, he studied at the Technical University in Karlsruhe and then worked in the US, Italy, Netherlands and Germany. As Chief Operating Officer for the Division Europe, Fenske is in charge of the operations in Europe covering the UK, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Spain and Portugal.
J.P. (Jacob) Fontijne – COO Benelux, Middle East & Africa
Jacob Fontijne joined DNV KEMA on February 1, 2011 as Chief Operating Officer for the BeNeLux, Africa and Middle East region. Having worked many years for companies such as Shell, Centrica and Booz Allen & Hamilton where he was responsible for both operations and business development, Fontijne has extensive global experience in the energy industry and in management consultancy. Fontijne graduated in Chemical Engineering from Delft University of Technology and earned an MBA from Cornell University in the US.
B.T. (Bjørn Tore) Markussen – COO Asia Pacific
Bjorn Tore Markussen has 20 years’ experience from strategic management and business development positions within Management Consulting, Clean Technology, Natural Gas and Maritime industries. Prior to joining DNV KEMA, Markussen lived 5 years in Singapore where he was the managing director of DNV Clean Technology Centre South East Asia, responsible for DNV’s services within LNG, CCS, Green Shipping, transmission and renewable energy.
H. (Hugo) van Nispen – COO Americas
For more than 25 years, Hugo van Nispen has been a leader in innovation and has led numerous strategy, transformation and technology initiatives. In 2008 he was recognized as one of Consulting Magazine’s Top 25 consultants. Van Nispen has full operating and financial responsibility for all DNV KEMA operations in the Americas (including North, South and Latin America, and the Caribbean).
Global Business Line Directors:
R.S. (Rich) Barnes – Global Director Sustainable Use
Richard Barnes is DNV KEMA’s global director for the Sustainable Use business line and is a member of the global leadership team. He has 31 years of experience in designing and implementing successful business strategies. Barnes provides strategic leadership for industry-leading services in energy efficiency, demand response, sustainability, and carbon management.
P.M.G. (Pierre) Bartholomeus – Global Director Gas Consulting & Services
Pierre Bartholomeus has comprehensive energy industry experience, having held key positions for more than 15 years at NV Nederlandse Gasunie and, prior to that, EnergieNed, the Federation of the Dutch energy industry. Bartholomeus is board member of the Royal Dutch Gas Association (KVGN) and the European Gas Research Group (GERG), and member of the Technical Program Committee of International Gas Union (IGU).
G.D. (Gerd) Enoch – Global Director Testing, Inspections & Certification
Gerd Enoch has over 25 years of experience in the global energy industry. Starting as a project manager for various innovative research and development projects, he then moved into various senior managerial roles within the power generation and renewable area. Since 2011, Gerd Enoch is Global Director for DNV KEMA's testing, inspections and certification activities.
G.H. (Gunnar) Heymann – Global Director Electricity Transmission & Distribution
Dr.-Ing. Gunnar Heymann has a long lasting experience in the energy industry, especially for network operators and municipal companies. He had been the Executive Director of DNV KEMA-IEV GmbH in Dresden since 2004, dealing with the liberalization of the energy market, increased implementation of renewable energy sources and related consequences for network operation, conceptual planning for Combined Heat and Power stations and CO2 reduction measures.
S.B. (Stein) Jensen – Global Director Accredited Climate Change Services
Stein Jensen has 40 years of experience in research, project management, operational and strategic management. His experiences cover power electronics, reliability of subsea production systems, environment and climate. He has international experience from France, Belgium and the UK. Jensen has a MSc and PhD in Electrical Engineering and was adjunct Professor in Risk and Reliability Analysis at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
K.J. (Kevin) Smith - Global Director Renewable Energy Sources
Kevin Smith has 22 years of experience in engineering consulting services, project management, business management, and business development related to wind and other renewable energy sectors. Prior to joining DNV KEMA, Smith was the Global Wind Energy Segment Director for DNV, focusing on new business, services, competence, and strategy.
R.T. (Rob) Wilhite – Global Director Management & Operations Consulting
Rob Wilhite has focused on the utility and energy industry for more than 27 years. He has responsibility for guiding the Management and Operations Consulting global business line, serving clients with advisory services for utility operations automation, business strategy, and markets and regulatory analyses.

Caroline Kamerbeek has more than 20 years experience in strategic marketing and communication functions in international innovative businesses of which the past nine years at Philips, a global leader in Health & Wellbeing. As Global Director Marketing & Communications, Caroline's is leading DNV KEMA's marketing and communications activities, supporting the overall business goals of the company.
A.C. (Arno) Tuinebreijer – Chief Human Resources Officer
Arno Tuinebreijer has over 20 year of experience in Human Resources (HR) in various roles. All these HR roles involved major change and transformation – restructuring, divestments and acquisitions – and offered him the possibility to be challenged in all areas of HR. Within DNV KEMA, Tuinebreijer holds the position of Chief HR Officer.
