“I feel good about fostering sustainability.”
“DNV KEMA offers much more than I expected. Because the company covers the whole chain of power generation, transmission and distribution, there’s plenty of scope for initiative. After graduating, I wanted to acquire more technical knowledge and specialize further. Since joining DNV KEMA, I’ve carried out various wind and biomass projects: from smoke scrubbing to the impact of wind energy on the electricity market. My colleagues at DNV KEMA are passionate about their work and there’s plenty of scope for initiative. People listen to you and they really appreciate your ideas.”
“I’m working on some of the most pressing problems of our times.”
Coen Verberk, Specialist in Reliability and Risk Analysis, the Netherlands
Coen Verberk came to DNV KEMA for his internship just before finishing his studies in Engineering Design & Innovation. "My traineeship gave me insight into various disciplines and enabled me to discover what I actually wanted to do. This was a good way to experience the corporate world and see if it would click. It did. I’m now a specialist in reliability and risk analysis, exploring scenarios. For example, how does an operational change affect the life expectancy of a power plant? I’ve also worked on the development of new technologies, such as carbon capture & storage. One of the great things about DNV KEMA is the lunch presentations at which colleagues talk about their current projects. This is a great place to work on solutions to some of the most pressing problems of our times.”
