Why does the industry need smart grid testing?

Join us for our inaugural Twitter chat

The real-life applications of smart grid are an amalgamation of solutions assembled from the building blocks of various providers. The variety of smart grid or grid-friendly devices that are proliferating in the industry is one of the key drivers for rigorous, structured testing.

Technologies will continuously evolve. Change will be constant. And, then, we also need to take into account standards that are in development. Having a stable platform is critical to assess and validate the performance of a system that will be subject to change.

What is needed to effectively test smart grid interoperability? How does smart grid interoperability testing benefit vendors, utilities, manufacturers, and consumers? What other testing areas does smart grid interoperability involve?

Join DNV KEMA Energy & Sustainability Vice President Ron Chebra for a live Twitter chat via @SmartGridSherpa on Thursday, March 15, 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. EST.

Use the hashtag #SGInterop to ask him your questions about smart grid testing and participate in the conversation.

For more information on smart grid interoperability, listen to the podcast of Chebra’s recent interview on The Peggy Smedley Show, "M2M for Energy: Smart Grid Interoperability Testing."
