DNV KEMA retains ‘Best Verifier’ ranking

DNV KEMA has retained its ranking as the ‘Best Verifier’ in the 13th annual Environmental Finance and Carbon Finance market survey of environmental markets – for the 3rd year in succession.

Environmental Finance and Carbon Finance – two of the leading global publications covering environmental markets – have named DNV KEMA has the best verifier in relation to Kyoto Project Credits (CDM and JI).

“We are delighted to have been chosen as the best verifier for the third year in succession,” said Stein B. Jensen, head of Accredited Climate Services in DNV KEMA. “The award reflects the standing we have in the market place and our dedication to building trust and confidence in the low carbon economy. To be nominated as the best verifier takes overall high standards of performance and, as such, is a tribute to all management and staff in our global network.

“Economic headwinds have continued to make life tough in environmental markets, with low demand for environmental commodities such as carbon credits and renewable energy credits hitting pricing, “ says Mark Nicholls, editor of Environmental Finance. “Regulatory and legal uncertainty is also weighing on environmental traders, particularly in Europe’s carbon markets. For the winners in our rankings, it’s been a question of perseverance and sticking to their core competencies.”

The survey – the most closely watched poll of sentiment across carbon, renewable energy and emissions markets -  reveals those firms that their clients, peers and competitors have judged to have provided the best service over the previous twelve months. The voters were asked to vote only in those categories in which they had direct experience and to make their judgement on the basis of: efficiency and speed of transaction: reliability: innovation: quality of information and service provided: and influence on the market.

The results will be published in the December 2012-January 2013 issue of Environmental Finance and online at www.environmental-finance.com and www.carbon-financeonline.com
