Type testing of electrical energy meters
Passport to the global energy market
In general, when power companies purchase energy meters the quantities are huge. So any company that has the opportunity to deliver to a national or regional power company is assured of the sale of thousands – if not tens of thousands – of meters. How can you maximize your chances of getting such an order?
You can have both your mechanical and electronic energy meters tested by DNV KEMA. We test to the latest IEC 62052-11 standard in combination with IEC 62053-11, 62053-21, 62053-22 and 62053-23 as well as to the European (MID harmonized) standards EN50470-1, EN50470-2 and EN50470-3. These tests are carried out under accreditation in accordance with ISO 17020/17025. We can also test to another relevant standard if desired. We report our findings to you in a Type Testing Report. The DNV KEMA laboratories in the Netherlands are very well equipped. The relevant tests include:
· mechanical requirements
· insulation properties
· accuracy requirements
· influence quantities
· electrical requirements
· electromagnetic compatibility
· the effect of climatic environments
A more detailed list can be downloaded from the menu on the right.
Besides IEC 62052-11, in combination with the IEC 62053 series and EN 50470, DNV KEMA also regularly conducts additional tests on energy meters such as salt spray tests, "weatherometer" tests, rain tests and durability- and reliability tests.
